Amera's Nail Endure is our basic nail strengthener. It works by forming a bond with the top layers of the nail, much like the dental bonding agent used for white or composite fillings. It is used in conjunction with Cuticle Mousse, which hydrates cuticles and nails. Once the nail is hydrated, the Nail Endure acts to seal in the "good moisture" while protecting the nail from external moisture or water damage. When Nail Lacquer Remover and Cleanser is used, the excess product on the surface is removed, but that which is bonded to the nail stays there, making the nail denser and therefore stronger. Nail Endure does not create an impermeable barrier as artificial nails to. In other words, the nail can still "breathe" with this product. Nail Endure will not penetrate through the nail plate in to the nail bed.

Features and Benefits

  • Forms a bond on the nail surface
  • Strengthens weak nails
  • Protects nails from water damage
  • Seals moisture in the nail

A prerequisite for the use of Nail Endure is that proper moisturizers be added to the daily regime of nail care to ensure healthy nails. Dehydration is the main enemy from which fingernails need to be protected. The solvents in most nail polish removers, as well as household cleaners, dishwater, etc. strip the nails of the moisture they need to stay flexible and strong. Strengthening dry nails with Nail Endure may cause them to become brittle. Cuticle Mousse is necessary to achieve a balance. Because of the unique properties of Nail Endure, it is imperative that use of Cuticle Mousse accompany the Nail Endure treatment for the best possible results. Some people may require Nail Endure at every manicure, while others may only need it every two to six weeks. Everyone should apply Cuticle Mousse at least once a day. For extremely dry cuticles or hands exposed to hard detergents, Cuticle Mousse application is recommended twice a day, both morning and evening.

Nail Endure is always applied to clean, bar nails that have been filed and buffed. The surface should be smooth to the touch and completely dry. Nails should be allowed to dry for at least 15 minutes and all dust particles from buffing should be wiped away. If the nail is damp or if dust particles are on the surface, the result may be an incomplete bond which may appear as peeling nails. If Nail Lacquer is to be use, one coat of Nail Endure is adequate. If the Nail Sequence is omitted, a second coat of Nail Endure may be applied for added strength. More than two applications per manicure will not increase the strengthening ability significantly.

IF Nail Endure is used with chlorine (such as in swimming pools and some cleaning products), it may turn yellow from a chemical reaction. Using Nail Lacquer Remover and Cleanser and buffing should eliminate the discoloration.

Nail Endure does contain a small amount of formaldehyde, which strengthens the nail.

    Directions for use:

    1. Nails should be clean, dry, and buffed. Allow at least 15 minutes drying time if nails have been in water.
    2. For correct application, the brush must be dipped lightly in Nail Endure, not saturated. You may need to wipe the brush a few times on the inside of the bottle to remove excess product. A THIN coat will bond better.
    3. Carefully lay the brush about 1/16th of an inch from the cuticle and stroke toward the top, covering the entire nail. Brush once down each side of the nail, completing the three-stroke sequence. Drying time is three to five minutes.
    4. When applying Nail Endure, care must be taken to cover only the nail plate. The cuticle must remain uncovered so that the nail can "breathe." Also, Nail Endure is designed to be used only on the nail and may have a drying effect if applied to the cuticle.
